Leather. Naturally ecological.
Our finished and semi-finished products are processed in accordance with the latest standards and regulations by our specially selected service providers.
Whether you require skins and hides, Split oder Wetblue , the finished leather that is ultimately produced combines natural characteristics with exceptional quality. Schnittger complies with all relevant quality standards and the stringent EU Directives, whether our own people are involved or specialist service providers. The same rigorous commitment to quality applies to every stage of the process.
In addition, our products are equally exacting when it comes to the environment. Not only in terms of the manufacturing process and our use of resources, but also with regard to the health and safety of the consumer.
Wherever possible, we use the most environmentally friendly method of preserving our raw materials, i.e., cooling in energy-efficient, insulated cold-storage facilities. Another example of our commitment to the environment is our refusal to use solvents, CFCs or formaldehyde in any production process. In addition, the dyes in our finished leather products are all water-soluble.
Exemplary production processes
The German leather industry is renowned worldwide as a leader in environmental responsibility. Schnittger contributes substantially to that reputation through standards compliance, by exceeding statutory requirements and through continuous improvement of our own working practices and those of our specialist providers.
